Lilly did aggravate the insult to the soft tissue around that knee on
Tuesday. The hospital had shaved that hind quarter–including the genital
area, and the hair was just beginning to grow back. That’s a very itchy
situation frustrating to a little girl. Lilly made a couple of rather
impressive jumps before I was able to calm her. This was all rather
expected, and shouldn’t be a problem. Lilly is already using the leg some.
She was using it a lot before Tuesday, but less since then. Most
importantly, she is having no problem moving around, and is pulling ahead of
me on walks. Lilly still doesn’t want to stand on the leg, but walking on it
gives her no paws. This after just one week. That’s quick even for TPLO.
