Assumptions? Hmm, that’s an interesting one in itself, Blair. No snap
judgment here, just observation based on your way of communicating both in
yesterday’s almost two-hour presentation, and your email. Apparently, you
find my saying that you are a specific type of personality offensive, and
that is odd to me. I don’t know about Canadians, but most American
executives need to have Type A personalities to excel. It’s expected of
them. Thus, I was actually paying you a bit of a compliment even if you
don’t personally agree with the underlying psychological models. I was also
acknowledging a physical limitation on my part so I don’t see why you found
it offensive.

However, business is all about personalities so we cannot separate the two.
Most business deals happen because of the personalities of the people
involved. As such, your last email finally did offend me, because you seem
to be the one jumping to conclusions and making rash assumptions. It does
seem strange to me that you’ve answered none of my business questions,
focusing instead on your own reaction to an unintended slight.

As an experienced blogger, I am sharing the facts of my encounter with NOS
with my readers. As I am truly transparent, my readers are able to read my
correspondence and judge for themselves if I’ve been unfair to you in any
way. What I heard in yesterday’s presentation raised certain questions that
needed answers. I am still waiting.

Scott,

Lots of assumptions being made here on your part in this and previous
communications. Let’s be clear we are not speaking and/or concerned about
your personal abilities. I am concerned about your assumptions and
presumptions regarding myself and my character, whom I know and have
personal experience with. Let’s leave the personal stuff personal and speak
business. Let’s also speak based on facts. So far your comments have not
had any relevance whatsoever other than to potentially offend, which does
not happen easily to me. However, if I see the potential for that I have to
think other eNerds and clients would too as part of my filtering process.

Well, Type A people are aggressive go-getters, not known for their patience.
They make very good entrepreneurs often, but I frustrate them because I can
only type with one knuckle. That means I type s l o w l y. Very few
executives have the patience to handle that. Do you see the relevance now?

I think I need to send a picture of myself to help you visualize who you’re
dealing with. It is evident that, like most people, you have no significant
experience with the Disabled. That’s certainly nothing to be embarrassed by,
it simply means you are unaware of the harsh realities I face constantly.
This is an opportunity for you, both to gain some knowledge and possibly use
what I can offer to create a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Scott,

Certainly did not mean to offend you, I had tried my best to monitor the
chat session. Not sure what you mean by calling me a Type A, I do know about
the classification just don’t see how that is a relevant comment. Also not
sure what you mean by Chris is a co founder, our co founders are David and
John. I will look these questions of yours over.

Subject: Questions

Blair,

The presentation was interesting, but it naturally didn’t answer most of my
questions. David Watson had assured me that you would monitor the chat
session for my questions, but you never responded to me. That was probably
just as well as I could tell that you were definitely a “Type A”
personality. I suspect that you wouldn’t have the patience to answer my
questions in chat. Let’s see if this method isn’t more productive:

· Your Q&A seemed to indicate that NOS deals mainly with
hardware-based installation and configuration requests. I mentioned before
that I am a software guy. Does NOS have any software-based requests pending?
If so, what percentage of your total seeds are software?

· Do you have any nerds in the Houston Area?

· As my resume shows, I have experience over a broad horizon of
software for single computer, server, and web applications. The type of
situation where I would likely add the greatest value is something like the
“mail router” you described. In truth, I enjoy working with customers
directly, but they sometimes are uncomfortable around me. There is no point
in trying to pretend that doesn’t happen when it does. Would NOS be
interested in a software-based arrangement along the lines of the “mail
router?”

· Given that I’m not your typical go-install-this-piece-of-hardware
nerd, what would my license fee really buy me? It occurs to me that there
are several modes I could operate in, providing services to other nerds as
well as external customers. Just to give one quick example, your founding
team clearly has iamanerd.com well under control, but would individual nerds
like a common look-and-feel or certain features added to their websites?

I clearly have questions to be answered before I put the effort out to
complete a nerd IQ quiz. If you would like to let the founders, like Chris,
answer my questions, I’d welcome that opportunity as well.

I look forward to your response.

Scott
